Operation could not be completed (error 0x00000709).
Double check the printer name and make sure that the printer is connected to the network.
Issue:
A client PC is not able to connect to a server PC who are sharing a USB printer in Windows 10 (both are Windows 10).
Founding:
This is a interested issue reported by my customer. I have found out the following situations that may contribute to this issue : -
- Both client and server PC was recently updated to latest update/version.
- Both client and server PC is not domain-joined devices.
- There is no dedicated DNS server.
Solution:
There is couple of steps need to be taken in order to solve the issue : -- To ensure the client PC is able to point to the server PC IP. You can remediate this by adding the hostname and IP address value in the client PC host file.
- To ensure the client PC is contacting the server PC hostname using Windows built-in DNS service.
